They were founded in Karlsruhe, Germany with purpose of producing, developing and marketing mechanical safety lock systems in 1979. SITEMA manufactures hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical and electric-powered safety lock systems for many different applications today.
SITEMA Safety Locks are kept open with hydraulic and pneumatic drives and activates in case of a sudden drop in pressure depending on the product series. The locking system grips the load and fixes the internal shaft via pre-tensioned springs. With that, the tensioning strength minimizes wear and tear since it originates only from the load direction of the shaft.
Gripping force test for SITEMA products is done via a dynamic test equipment that can carry up to 1000 tons and can fall down 3 meters per second. Test protocol are archived and are shared with our customers on demand.
SITEMA Safety Lock Systems has been approved by European authorities as a safety device. SITEMA is internationally approved for providing absolute relablity and quality including in-house processes and procedures with their ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certificates.
